The King of Prussia Rail Coalition, in partnership with Wells + Associates, is proud to present a free webinar series highlighting fresh perspectives on the immediate and generational opportunities presented by KOP Rail. The webinar series, KOP Rail: Smart Strategies for Connected Communities, will feature industry experts exploring anticipated benefits of this transformational project as well as highlight case studies from around the country, including Tysons, VA and Silicon Valley.
In January 2019, the Delaware Valley Regional Planning Commission (DVRPC) released a new study that explores the local land use and transportation implications of the proposed extension of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority’s (SEPTA’s) Norristown High Speed Line (NHSL) to the King of Prussia area. The new report, Station Area Planning for the Norristown High Speed Line Extension to King of Prussia, supports KOP Rail project exploring concepts related to pedestrian and bicycle access to the five proposed stations, as well as transit-supportive land use and development considerations for the area. Andrew Svekla, AICP, Associate Manager for the Office of Smart Growth at DVRPC will summarize the study, which also outlines recommendations and opportunities to enhance and extend the network for nonmotorized transportation in King of Prussia. In addition to specific station area recommendations, the report describes a series of broader planning principles that can help elected officials and partner agencies plan for the future of the KOP Rail corridor.
